The Children’s Museum is searching for Director of Accounting to help us achieve our mission of inspiring growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play! This is a part time position that reports directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Accounting will work with the CFO and Accounting Administrator to ensure quality processes, timely payments and collection of funds for the Museum. The Director will provide financial insight and recommendations to support the goals of the Museum, including presenting monthly financial reports to the Finance Committee of the Museum Board. Additional duties include monitoring cash flow, managing banking relationships, cash management oversight, and oversight of payroll and accounts receivable and payable.
Competencies:
Candidates should have a demonstrable passion for the mission and work of the Museum and a strong desire to make a difference in their community. Candidates should be able to problem solve, quickly identify discrepancies, effectively work as part of a team, and prioritize work with little supervision.
Skills and Abilities:
Successful candidates will have a minimum of four years’ experience in non-profit accounting and a demonstrated knowledge of general bookeeping. Candidates should have experience using Quickbooks.
Candidates should have a valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check.

Compensation:
$25-28 per hour
