He She Ze and We is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working to support transgender and nonbinary people by empowering their families, allies, and communities to create life-saving, inclusive environments.
HSZ&W serves families with transgender and nonbinary children (of all ages). We provide individual consultations, group meetings, and special guest speaker events + in person family programming across the state. 12+ meetings per month!
HSZ&W offers professional development training to corporations, community groups, businesses, schools, and direct service providers that want to learn more about gender identity and best practices through a gender lens. Our Community Ally Education Program is a fee based service and we will work with your budget.

Shannon McKay (she/her) is the executive director and co-founder of He She Ze and We. Shannon is passionate about the work she gets to do as an educator, facilitator, organizer, and advocate. She has been recognized by Equality VA as an Outstanding Virginian and HSZ&W received a Catalyst Award from Side by Side for their grassroots efforts educating and building community with families with trans kids.
Shannon is an ally that loves networking and collaborating with community partners to lift and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!
