The Children’s Museum is searching for Facilities and Maintenance Technician to help us achieve our mission of inspiring growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. This is a full time position that reports to the Facilities and Exhibits Manager.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the repair, and maintenance of the buildings at our Downtown and Chesterfield locations. Responsibilities include: electrical and plumbing maintenance, painting, construction, landscaping, cleaning, and other general labor support.
Competencies:
Candidates should have a demonstrable passion for the mission and work of the Museum and a strong desire to make a difference in their community. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Candidates should have excellent problem solving abilities.
Skills and Abilities:
Experience in light construction or other trade and two or more years in a general labor role is required. Experience with light plumbing is required. Experience with electrical work is highly desired.
Candidates should have a valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check. This position requires extensive walking, standing, heavy lifting, and occasional use of tools. Occasional night or weekend hours may be required.
