The Children’s Museum of Richmond is searching for an energetic and enthusiastic Community Outreach Manager to help us achieve our mission of inspiring growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. This is a full time position with benefits that is based out of the downtown location and reports to the Director of Education.
Responsibilities:
The Community Outreach Manager will build a cohesive approach to take the Museum mission outside of the physical space and into the community. The Manager will develop and maintain partner relationships with non-profit organizations, schools, and other community partners to determine the most effective methods of engagement. This position will also manage the operation of CMoR’s Book Bank including managing book intake and distribution requests and operating the mobile book van. The Manager will work with an inter departmental team to develop a culturally diverse event calendar for both Museum locations and oversee all special events including planning, logistics, and execution. The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for managing any applicable grants including budgeting, purchasing, and managing contracts. This position may occasionally require work on nights and weekends.
Competencies:
Candidates should have enthusiasm for and dedication to the mission and work of the Museum. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. The most successful candidate will be an energetic and effective connector with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skills and Abilities:
Candidates should have at least five years’ experience working for a non-profit organization and knowledge of and experience with non-profit organizations in Richmond and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience managing projects. Candidates should have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. Preferred candidates will have experience managing grants. Bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills are desired but not required.
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, walk, stand, bend, lift, and move up to fifty pounds.
Candidates should have the ability to pass a background check and have an unrestricted driver’s license.

Salary:
$45,000 – 50,000
