    The Children’s Museum of Richmond is searching for a Development Associate to help us achieve our mission of inspiring growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. This is a full time position with benefits that is based out of the downtown location and reports to the Director of Development & Marketing.

    Responsibilities:

    The Development Associate will support the Development department’s fundraising efforts by creating and managing mail solicitation campaigns, researching prospects, stewarding donors, and assisting with the planning and execution of museum fundraising events. This position will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the donor database management system and providing general administrative support for development operations.

    Competencies:

    Candidates should have enthusiasm for and dedication to the mission and work of the Museum. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.  The most successful candidate will also have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to work with confidential information.

    Skills and Abilities:

    Candidates should have one to three years’ experience working or volunteering with a non-profit organization and knowledge of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and techniques. Candidates should have experience working with Microsoft Office Site or Google Workspace and relational databases.

    This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, walk, stand, bend, lift, and move up to twenty five pounds.

    Candidates should have the ability to pass a background check and have an unrestricted driver’s license.
