Member Bio
I was raised in Springfield, MO and left the Bible belt to study film at Vassar College in the Hudson Valley. I spent the decade after college traveling for film and carpentry gigs, working for Bass Pro Shops as a sculptor, and teaching English in South Korea, my mother’s home country. I also struggled with Bipolar and my gender presentation through most of my twenties. Rather than go in debt to attend grad school in interior design, I moved to Dancing Rabbit ecovillage in northern Missouri in 2020 to stabilize, experience living in community, and work through some major trauma. It’s there I started supporting myself by selling paintings and prints full-time, starting Grace Statwick Studios as a small business. I then briefly moved to Twin Oaks income sharing community in Louisa, Virginia, before ultimately deciding to commit to a career in painting murals, for which Richmond has proven to be a wonderful location. I am interested in networking with others and in getting my supplier certification through the NGLCC. Thank you for your consideration.
