Kimmothy Cole is a trans non-binary educator, organizer and creator living in central Virginia. Cole has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, an endorsement in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (Virginia), is a certified Embodied Social Justice practitioner and Movement Chaplain. They have 20 years of experience organizing intergenerational community in spiritual, educational and creative environments. Cole was the Founding Artistic Director of TAPROOT, a multi-disciplinary performance collective in Charlotte, NC. They are an award-winning theatre producer and performer who continues to produce programming locally and throughout the Southeast. They have been a featured panelist or presenter at various festivals, conferences or events including: Performing the World Conference, Living Games Conference, Atlanta Fringe Festival, This Is Not Normal Fest (The Brick, Brooklyn), BOOM! Festival, The Network of Ensemble Theatres National Gathering, IMMEDIATE Fashion School (Austin, TX). They have also been featured as a guest contributor for various publications, podcasts, and digital media including: Charlotte Five, POV (PBS) and Howlround. They were the Producing Editor and Primary Contributor for A Liturgy for All Bodies: New Words for a New World (Cyclical Publishing). Their ancestral Celtic culture inspires a connection with the natural world that prioritizes alignment with the ecosystem and right relationship with our human and non-human kin. Cole believes in ability and age inclusive community that values the many different phases of wisdom that humans access throughout their life. Trained in consensus-based decision making, Cole teaches consent culture and meaningful conflict resolution at all ages. Currently, Cole is the Director of Programming for US|wild|THEMS building intergenerational community with a focus on early childhood education. In this position, they serve as the Lead Teacher for The Curiosity Collective, a community co-learning co-op. Cole is excited to be a part of the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber. They look forward to meeting others who are interested in developing a strong support system for our city. They would love to collaborate with other businesses and professionals in the community.
