Member Bio
Bary W. Hausrath is a graduate of George Mason University and the University of Richmond School of Law. Bary provides estate planning services such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and medical directives. Community service and volunteer work are part and parcel of Bary's public life. Bary is known to Chamber members for his work as past president (2014-2018), and as a founder of the Virginia Equality Bar Association and its Name and Gender Marker Change Clinics. Bary lives in the City of Richmond with his husband Cameron. They enjoy traveling, sci-fi, and taking in the many joys of Richmond with friends. Recent Awards: In 2018, Bary was a recipient of the Virginia Equality Bar Association’s Advocate of the Year Award. In 2019, Bary was named one of the National LGBT Bar Association’s “Top 40 LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40." In 2020, Bary was recognized by the Virginia State Bar with its Lewis F. Powell Jr. Pro Bono Award.
